biography

Charles has been self-taught in painting and drawing since the age of 8, a solitary quest tinged with curiosity and mischief. He juggles shades of acrylic black before plunging into the exploration of colors, pigments, stencils, acrylic sticks and oils.

Her artistic language weaves a complex tale of life and its paradoxes, fusing human, animal and plant worlds. Vivid colors, underlined by black lines, are his signature. His work, imbued with the influences of Aboriginal art, Pierre Alechinsky and Keith Haring, as well as myths and symbols, is a vibrant expression.

Charles' preferred medium is linen canvas, on which he displays his genius with acrylics and, more recently, pure pigments. Like a street artist, he wields spray cans and oil sticks to create hues of striking intensity. Charles rejects academic teaching, asserting his youthfulness with fierce determination, refusing any interference between his canvas and his beating heart.

Each canvas becomes the epicenter of an artistic tumult, marked by lines, repentances and an overload of color. Nothing and no one stands between the artist and his creation. Charles Plétincx, devoted body and soul to his work, offers the eye a world as rich as it is moving.
